On your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and take you to your hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Today you will visit the office for issuing permits, program briefing, and meeting the guide. You will have an extra day before the trek to make sure you are fully prepared for the trek. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
After morning breakfast, you will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m) that takes about 7 hrs. Following hotel check-in, you can explore beautiful city of Pokhara. Pokhara is a tourist's paradise full of natural and cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples along with the magnificent views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
Enjoy scenic drive on a private jeep from Pokhara to Kalopani. The highway follows along Kali Gandaki River passing through important stops including Beni, Tatopani and Ghasa. En route you will witness the beautiful Rupche Waterfall and the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge. Kalopani is itself a beautiful village surrounded by tallest peaks such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche and Nilgiri. Stay overnight at lodge.
Following breakfast, you will leave Kalopani and head towards Muktinath. Here you will visit the holy Muktinath temple which is famous for 108 water spout and eternal flame. Later continue your journey forward to Kagbeni. Located on the confluence of Kali Gandaki and Jhong Rivers, Kagbeni is the ancestral home of ethnic Thakali people who follow Tibetan influenced Buddhist tradition. Stay overnight at lodge.
The day starts with a visit to the nearby security checkpost where your trekking permits are checked. Then drive along Kali Gandaki River to reach Chele which is entry point for Upper Mustang restricted area. The road ahead takes you to a unique landscape full of monasteries, cliffs, caves and canyons. You will cross over several passes Taklam La (3,624 m) and Nyi La (4,010 m) and catch the views of Nilgiri and Damodar Himal. Ghami is a big village featuring cave dwellings and red walled monastery. Also called Lo Gekar Gompa, the red walled monastery with a long maniwall is said to be founded by Guru Rinpoche before visiting Tibet to start Buddhism religion. Stay overnight at lodge.
The drive beyond Ghami takes you to ancient villages of Tsarang and Lomanthang. You will visit Lo Ghekar Monastery (Ghar Gumba) on the way. Along the way you will come across colorful maniwalls and chortens, red cliffs and canyons and also magnificent view of Himalayan peaks including Annapurna and Nilgiri. You will explore Red-walled Monastery, ruins of medieval fortress, maniwalls and chortens and Tsarang Chu canyon in Tsarang. Stay overnight at lodge in Lomanthang.
Today you will spend your time exploring Lo Manthang. Lo Manthang is home to the royal palace of former kings of Mustang and is regarded as a repository of Tibetan lifestyle and Buddhism. You will visit three ancient monasteries, namely Jampa, Chode and Thubchen monasteries together with complex and impressive Chhoser caves. Lo Manthang hosts the famous Tiji Festival every year. You can also explore nearby Tinghkar Village located along Nepal and Tibet border and 1200 years old Ghar Gompa. Return back to Lo Manthang. Stay overnight at lodge.
Drive from Lo Manthang to Luri Gompa via Tsarang(Charang). Luri Gompa belongs to Nyingma Sect of Buddhism. Yara is a small settlement featuring cliffs and TashiKabum cave that houses rare paintings and a stupa. Stay overnight at lodge.
Begin the day with warm breakfast and then take a long drive to Jomsom in the Kali Gandaki valley. This exotic overland journey will pass through Tsarang, Samar and Kagbeni and offers impressive panorama of landscape and architecture including cliffs caves, gorges, rivers, monastetries and apple orchards. Enjoy majestic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri along with Kali Gandaki Gorge. Jomsom is a suburb acting as the headquarters of Mustang District. Stay overnight at lodge.
An early morning drive from Jomsom to Pokhara (914m.) offers scenic views of the Kaligandaki River and Himalayan peaks. Alternatively, in case of flight cancellation, a seven-hour drive to Pokhara is available. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
After morning breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu takes about 7 hrs. The scenic drive takes you through Damauli, Dumre, Mugling, and Kurintar, where you can see Nepal's first cable car heading up to the Manakamana Temple. The journey continues through Naubise and up to Thankot, the gateway to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Free day in Kathmandu for shopping and recreation. In the evening enjoy a farewell dinner with live cultural show. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
