Nepal - Bhutan tour begins with a Himalayan flight from Kathmandu after spending a day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley. Bhutan is one of the smallest kingdoms in the world situated in the laps of eastern Himalayan ranges, close to Nepal. In Bhutan you will have four full days of sightseeing tour of Paro, Punakha and Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Among the major landmarks you will be visiting includes Ta Dzong monastery, Paro Rimpung Dzong, the palace of Lichu Lhakang, Drukgyal Dzong, National Memorial Chorten, Dupthop Lhakhang Nunnery and Taktsang monastery. This is a rare opportunity to observe and learn Bhutanese art and architecture, culture and royal history, enjoy beautiful Himalayan ranges as well as experience adventurous ride across high Himalayan passes of Dochu La and Chelela Pass en route to the naturally gifted Haa and Paro Valleys.
Bhutan Dragon Kingdom Tour is possible all the year round except in the months of July and August when it is a little damp for tourists. Spring (March, April & May) and Autumn (September, October & November) are the best seasons for travel to Bhutan as you can participate in couple of festivals in different places in these months. Enjoy your morning breakfast, after which your tour guide will pick you up from hotel and take you for city sightseeing. You will visit popular world heritage monuments in Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudha Stupa, Swoyambhu Stupa, and Pashupatinath along with Kopan Monastery. Today too, after breakfast, the tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and visit Patan, one of the three medieval cities of Kathmandu Valley. You will enjoy and revel at the many architectural wonders of Patan Durbar Square including Krishna Mandir, statue of Bhupatindra Malla, Golden Temple, Namo Buddha and so on. The experience of walking through the narrow cobbled alleyways and discovering the age-old culture and tradition of Newari people will take you back in time.
Later you will visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, another world heritage site. Bhaktapur has so much to offer to the tourists from medieval temples and statues to pottery square to local delicacioes. 55-Window Palace, Nyatapola Temple, Pottery Square are some of the sites you will visit in the square. Following the completion of the tour in Bhaktapur you will drive back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Transfer from Kathmandu hotel to Kathmandu International Airport as per your flight schedule. Fly from Kathmandu to Paro which takes about 1 hr. Our representative will greet you upon arrival at Paro Airport (7,000ft) and transfer to Thimphu, through the beautiful valleys of Paro to the capital of Bhutan. Check in the Hotel and enjoy evening stroll around down town. Stay overnight at hotel in Thimphu.
Morning visit memorial Chorten built in the memory of Lt. His Majesty the King by Royal Queen Mother and Buddha point where you can see the big statue of Buddha erected overlooking the Thimphu Valley. Later drive Changangkha Lhakhang Thimphu oldest temple, Motithang mini Zoo to see the National animal The Takin. Drive down to viewpoint from where you have magnificent view of Thimphu valley; visit National Library to see the large collection of traditional books, Folk Heritage museum where you can see the typical Bhutanese house and their way lifestyle and school of arts & craft (Painting School). Afternoon if possible you can visit Tashichodzong, the parliament house of the country, handmade paper factory and some of the local Handicraft centre. Stay overnight at hotel in Thimphu.
Morning transfer to Phobjikha through Dochula Pass from where one can see beautiful view of Eastern Himalayan Range on a clear sunny day. Pass by Wangdi Town and have lunch at Nobding restaurant and continue to Phobjikha. Gangtey/Phobjikha is valley with traditional and natural setting. It is a prime habitat of Black Neck Crane which comes to valley during from Tibetan plateau and is a rare and endangered bird. On reaching Gangtey, visit Gangtey Gompa and walk down to village through walking trail. Stay overnight at hotel in Phubjikha.
Morning visit to the festival ground organized by Royal Society of Protecting Nature (RSPN). There will be different types of dances organized by the school children of the valley, symbolizing the visit of cranes and its habits (09-12 Am). Enjoy the festival and interact with local people. Have lunch and transfer to Punakha/Wangdi. Stay overnight at hotel in Punakha.
In the morning you will visit Chimi Lhakhang at Lobesa, later transfer to Paro, Have lunch and visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum housed in an ancient watchtower, which has a fine collection of ancient Thangka painting, textiles, weapons and artifacts. Evening you will be walking around the Ugyen Pelri Palace and the traditional wooden bridge. Stay overnight at hotel in Paro.
Morning drives till to the road end point of Taktsang and hike to Taktsang monastery on the way back visit the ruins of Drugyel Dzong. This Dzong is of historical importance, from whose ramparts the Bhutanese repelled Tibetan invaders. On a clear day one can view the sacred Mount Chhomolhari, Mountain of Goddess (24,000 ft). Later visit Kichu Monastery. Stay overnight at hotel in Paro.
Today, you will fly from Paro to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival to Kathmandu
International airport, we will transfer you to Kathmandu hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
